Cracking behavior of sea sand RC beam bonded externally with CFRP plate

چکیده

CFRP is an alternative technique for cracking control of high-chloride reinforced concrete (RC) beams. This research, therefore, investigates the strength performance and failure mode behaviour RC beams incorporated with sea sand bonded externally carbon fibre polymer (CFRP) plate. Sea used as a 100% replacement fine aggregate. Three batches were carried out in this including beam (no neither CFRP), normal plate, CFRP. A four-point bending test was performed under static loading specimens. Finite element simulation modelled further comparison. The experimental findings showed that flexural capacity plate 5.50% greater than without (control beam). Besides, results demonstrated failed by end debonding (PED) while bonding at mid-span crushing. However, stiffer, which could lead to lower crack spacing. very acceptable compared results.

Behavior of Full-Scale Shear Deficient Corner RC Beam- Column Connections Retrofitted with CFRP Sheets

In moment resisting reinforced concrete framed buildings, corner joints are found at the roof level. These joints, if designed for gravity loads and are based on pre-seismic codes, may suffer substantial damage during earthquakes particularly under opening cycles, i.e. those causing flexural tension on the inside of the joint. Several techniques of repair and strengthening of reinforced concret...

Flexural Behavior of RC Members Using Externally Bonded Aluminum-Glass Fiber Composite Beams

This study concerns improvement of flexural stiffness/strength of concrete members reinforced with externally bonded, aluminum-glass fiber composite (AGC) beams. An experimental program, consisting of seven reinforced concrete slabs and seven reinforced concrete beams strengthened in flexure with AGC beams, was initiated under four-point bending in order to evaluate three parameters: the cross-...

Investigation on Flexural Performance of RC Beams Flexurally Strengthened by Side-bonded CFRP Laminates

It is an effective way to improve the flexural behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) members by externally bonded carbon fiber reinforcement polymer (CFRP) laminates on the soffit of the members. However, there is little investigation on flexural performance of RC beam flexurally strengthened by side-bonded FRP laminates. To investigate the flexural behavior of RC beams side-bonded CFRP laminate...

Debonding Failures of Rc Beams Strengthened with Externally Bonded Frp Reinforcement: Behaviour and Modelling

Both the flexural and shear strengths of reinforced concrete (RC) beams can be substantially enhanced using externally bonded fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) composites. Failures of such FRP-strengthened RC beams often occur by debonding of the FRP plate from the RC beam in a number of forms. Despite numerous theoretical and experimental studies on debonding failures of FRP-strengthened RC beams...
